Meet Billings Chiropractor Dr. Jeff Meier
Dr. Jeffrey Meier experienced the extraordinary healing benefits of chiropractic when his athletic career was restored following a serious injury playing college baseball. “Doctor after doctor told me that my baseball season was over due to the extent of my injury. After all else had failed, I went to my first chiropractor. I didn’t know much about chiropractic and simply put, I was a skeptic. After two weeks under chiropractic care, I was back on the field playing baseball again. I continued seeing my chiropractor and as the weeks turned into months I noticed that my daily headaches and shoulder pain had vanished. I no longer needed painkillers just to get through the day. I thought this was amazing considering I only went to the chiropractor for my low back pain. Chiropractic care has changed my life! I am a healthier person, living more fully because I get adjusted regularly.”
A Foundation of Education
Dr. Jeff attended Bemidji State University, and completed his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years of intensive study at Palmer Dr. Jeff played rugby, hockey, and baseball for the Palmer Dragons. “I put my body under huge amounts of stress and pressure throughout school, and if it wasn’t for my regular chiropractic adjustments I would’ve never made it out in one piece.”
During his last few months of school, Dr. Jeff, and other fellow classmates participated in a mission trip to India, where they brought chiropractic care and hope to thousands of under privileged people. “It was a great experience to see a completely different culture, and to help out the poorest of the poor. It was very humbling to see how people live in India, and it puts into perspective just how good we have it here.”
Dr. Jeff and Dr. Kim were married on their graduation day at 9am and walked the stage four hours later to become doctors of chiropractic together. Their travels took then to Ireland where they have both practiced for two years. The couple moved to Billings in 2006 and opened Meier Family Chiropractic.
We have has since been blessed with 2 beautiful girls, Sadie J. and Dylan Reese and are enjoying the balance of family life and a busy practice.
Our vision is to provide life-enhancing chiropractic care to all ages, in an environment that encourages people to commit to continued well-being and empowers them to maximize their human potential. Our philosophy is based on the concept that a proactive approach is better than a reactive one. We want to inspire and lead people to be healthier, better human beings, not because they are afraid of, or trying to avoid getting sick, but because they want to be healthy and well, and get the most out of life. Wellness is a process, not a destination, there is always room for better health.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Jeff practices what he preaches. He gets adjusted at least once a week, not because he is hurting, but because he knows that weekly adjustments keep him functioning at his best.
Weekly adjustments are like brushing your teeth everyday, it is a healthy habit and you are better off when you do it consistently.
He loves to exercise and continues to play rugby and hockey in Billings. “I usually do some type of exercise everyday. It is my time to unwind and relax, I feel so refreshed after a good workout.” He is also very focused on healthy eating. He believes that a healthy diet, exercise, and a properly functioning nervous system is the corner stone to continued good health.
